Low Cost Spay/Neuter Surgery For Dogs and Cats
Unless you are a breeder or intend to breed your pet, the decision to spay or neuter your pet is an important part of wellness care for your pet’s long term health. Getting your pet spayed or neutered helps to maintain the pet population, may improve your pet’s longevity, reduce bad behavior, reduce your male pet’s urge to spray or roam, as well as reduce the risk of pyometra (a potentially fatal uterine infection), uterine cancer and other cancers of the reproductive system.
Value Pet Vet’s SPAY/NEUTER INITIATIVE offers lower cost spay and neuter services to both the 501c community (foster and adoption organizations) as well as the general public. They are common, safe, routine procedures and we have done over 10,000 spay/neuter surgeries since opening our doors in 2017.

What is a “Spay” or “Neuter” Surgery?
Spay and neuter surgery means to remove reproductive organs. A spay surgery refers to the surgical procedure performed in female dogs and cats. In females, the ovaries and, in certain situations, the uterus are surgically removed, preventing any future pregnancies. A neuter surgery refers to the surgical removal of both testicles (responsible for producing sperm and testosterone), eliminating reproductive capability, and in many cases, the desire for the male pets to spray and roam.
The primary purposes of spay/neuter surgery is to prevent unwanted litters and pet overpopulation, reduce certain health risks–including cancer, and mitigate some behavioral issues. The procedure is performed under general anesthesia, and recovery typically involves a short period of rest and limited activity. Most dogs and cats recover quickly and return to their normal activities within a few days.
